What conditions might lead to the development of hypovolemia?

Hypovolemia is a common medical condition which occurs when the body has lost an excessive amount of body fluids, including water and electrolytes. It can occur as a result of either external or internal loss of fluids. The condition decreases the volume of circulating blood in the body, leading to dehydration, shock and other life-threatening conditions (Truong et al., 2017; Mccollum & Bostwick, 2018).
