The steps taken by doctoral learners to ensure the validity of a qualitative research study are essential for successful data collection, analysis, and reporting. Validity is an important concept in any type of research because it denotes that the findings obtained from the study can be relied upon (Geske & Schmieder-Ramada, 2017). It is necessary for doctoral learners to understand how to establish and maintain validity in order to produce meaningful results.
