What are the reasons for quality and research initiatives?

The primary reasons behind quality and research initiatives are to improve the quality of care, reduce costs, and advance knowledge. Quality initiatives focus on improving patient outcomes by increasing the accuracy of diagnosis, decreasing wait times in emergency departments, reducing medication errors, promoting preventive medicine practices such as immunizations or screenings for chronic illness, and more (Umphred et al., 2018). This can be accomplished through a variety of methods including implementing best practice protocols based off national guidelines or even utilizing technology such as electronic health records which can help streamline processes while also ensuring accurate record keeping (Kantar Health 2018).

What are the reasons for quality and research initiatives?

Research initiatives seek to uncover new information related to medical science or healthcare delivery systems that will lead to better patient outcomes. For instance studies may seek to identify novel treatments for diseases or conditions that have not responded well to traditional therapies. They may also evaluate existing treatment plans in order to determine their efficacy compared with other options available (Gonzales & Anderson 2020). Additionally research studies provide valuable data regarding how different populations respond differently when receiving various treatments which can then be used as evidence-based decision making tools by healthcare providers in selecting the best course of action for an individual patient (Ely et al., 2017).

Ultimately both quality and research initiatives are essential pieces in providing safe and effective care for all patients –while improving the overall public health system at large. By remaining vigilant about our commitment towards creating high-quality care environments combined with doing due diligence in researching answers we don’t yet have access too we ensure that progress continues forward while creating a healthier future.
