The benefit of focus groups is that it allows researchers to obtain data from multiple perspectives in real-time using naturalistic methods; this allows them get an accurate picture what’s going on without having rely solely upon surveys which may not yield as comprehensive results due its more structured nature (O’Byrne et al., 2019). Additionally conversations among participants can often lead uncovering new ideas that would otherwise be overlooked when engaging with individuals independently (Tashakkori & Teddlie 1998). This provides a much better understanding how people view certain topics by providing context behind their responses as opposed merely collecting numerical values.
