Discuss your facility’s procedure for reporting these types of abuse

In the healthcare system, reporting suspected abuse is essential for identifying and preventing any further harm to patients. In my facility, our procedure for reporting these types of abuse involves a few main steps. First and foremost, staff are trained in recognizing signs of potential abuse, as well as ways to intervene and provide proper treatment or referrals (Sarnowski et al., 2018). If a potential case of abuse is identified, this must be reported immediately to the appropriate personnel at the hospital or facility. This may include nurses, supervisors, administrators or other authority figures who can investigate further (Heidrich & Thomlison 2018).
