Describe the policy you have chosen and its connection to the social justice problem that was the focus of the previous assignment

My chosen policy is the United States Department of Education’s Investing in Innovation Fund (i3 Fund), a competitive grant program designed to support local educational agencies and other education organizations to develop, implement, and scale up evidence-based strategies that can improve student achievement. The purpose of this policy is to reduce disparities in educational outcomes for low-income and minority students by investing in proven interventions with the potential for broad impact. Targeted investments from i3 will help states, districts, schools, non-profits, and community organizations design innovative approaches that bridge gaps between traditionally underserved student populations and their more advantaged peers.
